After a lot of looking and research I am now riding a Yamaha Royal Star Venture. I looked at almost every bagger out there. One of the big factors in my decision is that the Venture comes with a 5 year unlimited miles warranty. That is hard to turn down, especially considering how much I ride.
I picked up the bike Saturday May 22, 2010 from Motion CycleSports and I am looking forward to riding it for 100,000+ miles.
I got up early Sunday morning and went riding prior to attending church. I stopped on CO 331 aka Woodlawn Road on the east side of McKinney and took these pictures of my bike.
Needless to say I am pretty excited and I am really enjoying the Venture. Later on when I get 10,000+ miles on the bike I will post my thoughts and impressions. In the mean time I am riding every chance I get.
Congratulations on your new ride. You must be excited to get out and ride it as much as you can. It is a good looking bike and I look forward to hearing about your adventures on it.
ReplyDeleteGary, Thanks. I am looking forward to some good riding. Road today in an escort for the traveling Vietnam Wall Memorial. It is a great ride. I will love it on the big trip to Yellowstone this summer.
ReplyDeleteWow. 100,000 miles is some serious riding. When do you get a chance to blog?
ReplyDeleteAnyway congrats on the new machine. Sure looks nice. I hope it treats you as well as the last one for the next 100k.
I am blessed with some quality time for riding and I get to ride a lot to work. I am an assistant principal so I get a lot of time in summer. I hope to get well over 100,000 on this new bike.
ReplyDeleteLooks real nice. Like the paint on it. Ain't new so cool!
ReplyDeleteWebster you are right, new is so cool. I was looking preowned, but things just worked out for the new one. Glad that I have the 5 year warranty.
ReplyDeleteI love the new Yamaha Venture, good luck and many miles on it ;-)
ReplyDeleteI still can't believe you did over 100K on the other, I wish I had the time and money to travel the west, the scenery is just beautiful.
I will be getting a new bike next year and I can't decide on a Vulcan Voyager, Yamaha or a Harley. Harley's too expensive. Decisions ;-)
Keep up the blogging :-)
