I joined the Rhodesian Police force, the BSAP, in 1968 and that was the very bike that I learned to ride on, I rode that bike and the BSA 650 twin through most of my service until they brought in the Yamaha 350. That Matchless was a lovely bike to ride, I would give my left you-know-what to own one today!
